Africa We Want

In Seoul, Korea, the 30th anniversary of the genocide against the Tutsis was commemorated through various events. The commemoration began with a solemn walk of remembrance, followed by an opening ceremony attended by Korean officials, members of the diplomatic corps in Korea, Rwandans living abroad, and friends of Rwanda, predominantly Koreans. The official ceremony commenced with a gathering blessing and a prayer led by Dr. Billy Kim, who co-hosted the event. Dr. Kim, a globally respected pastor, evangelist, and broadcaster, is also the Chairman of FEBC-Korea and the Far East Broadcasting Company in Korea. During his remarks, Dr. Kim spoke highly of Rwanda and praised President Kagame.

Dr Bill Kim prayer and blessing for KWIBUKA 30

Almighty God, as we gather here today in
to remember the solemn anniversary of the genocide
against the Tutsis in Rwanda,
we come before you with heavy hearts.

We lift up to you the families of the victims.
May you grant them strength and comfort.
Heal their wounds and fill their hearts
with your peace that passes all understanding.

Eternal God, we pray for the people of Rwanda,
especially for the great leader President Kagame,
that you may grant him wisdom,
guide him and direct him and use him in a mighty way.

Loving God,
as we remember and unite in your love,
we pray that your blessings may fill
the country of Rwanda
and renew hope for its people.

Father, we ask all this in Lord’s name.
