The global summit is billed to hold in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city between November 1 and 3. Speaking in a recent interview the President and Chief Executive Officer of WTTC, Julia Simpson said Rwanda has shown growth in the areas of nature conservation and tourism. According to her; “In November, the WTTC will be going to Rwanda and we are going to hold there, a major annual summit.
Rwanda is an incredible example in Africa of a country that has done so much in the world of conservation, biodiversity, and protecting nature; we all know about Rwanda and the gorillas and they’ve done much more than that as well. “Rwanda is now a really modern African country, is bringing in business travellers, there is a lot of innovations going on, so we are very proud to host a major conference there.’’
As home to the International Gorilla Conservation Programme, the WTTC Global Summit is expected to help Rwanda showcase the power of sustainable tourism to protect biodiversity and create thriving communities while highlighting and celebrating the country’s travel and tourism success stories.
The most important travel and tourism event of the year, the WTTC Global Summit, will once again bring together influential business leaders and key government officials to continue coordinating efforts to support the industry’s recovery and advance towards a safer, more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future.
